- The Morris Park Country Club (MPCC) Board of Directors is excited to announce a much-anticipated project in South Bend, IN. The "2nd
Century Project" includes a new pool complex and the renovation and repurposing of the current clubhouse. The project got underway in October 2019 and is coming to fruition after 3+ years of strategic planning and a 96%-member vote to support it.
The 2nd Century Project is a MPCC collaboration with Mishawaka's Arkos Design and South Bend's Ancon Construction. The project brings to life the largest capital investment in the history of the Club. In 96 years, MPCC has seen renovations and additions to the clubhouse in 1963, 1974, 1981, 2003, and 2013.
The 2nd Century Project upgrades MPCC with state-of-the-art amenities that new and current members will love! The project upgrades and renovates the entire Club before coming to completion in late summer or early fall 2020.
Among the many renovations – some of the highlights include a new pool complex; golf shop and indoor golf simulators; locker rooms, kids’ zone, and formal and family-dining areas; new cafe, event space, and pub-style bar and grill; and a brand-new fitness center and yoga studio.
The first phase of the project–a completely new pool complex–is already in full swing. In time for the swimming season, the new pool complex is opening in the early spring of 2020! The new complex includes a modern 6-lane pool with water features and zero-entry area, a new pool house, and a water slide!
One of the goals of the project is to create family-friendly attractions for Club members, highlighted by a new Kids’ Zone space where kids can be kids. Other exciting changes include renovating the event space, and the addition of meeting rooms, bridal suite, offices – and much more.
The Club is staying open for members throughout the renovations–except for a period of time this winter (January - February) when kitchen renovations take place.
Morris Park is the only member-owned country club in the greater South Bend area and committed to serving its community of members. PGA Professional and General Manager, Rusty Mason, says, "This project is not only a game-changer for the members of the Club, but I believe it’s positive for the community too...The driving force behind this project was the board’s focus on preserving one of South Bend’s oldest institutions well into our next 100 years..."
In conjunction with the start of the project, MPCC has rolled out its new membership program for 2020. Prospective members who apply for membership in the early stages of this project will benefit from doing so.
