| Morris Park to Host 2010 Indiana PGA Senior Open Championship | |||
Morris Park Country Club has been selected to host the 31st Indiana Senior Open Championship May 10-11, 2010. Over 100 of Indiana's finest male Senior Professionals and Amateurs age 50 and over will descend upon Morris Park to play for the state's most prestiguous senior title.
The tournament will be contested over 36 holes with a cut of the low 60 players and ties coming after the first round. 2009 Champion Sam Till, Jr. an amateur from Sycamore Hills Country Club in Fort Wayne , Indiana is expected to defend his title.
Notable past champions of this event include the legendary and longtime professional at Elcona Country Club George Thomas ('80, '81), Jerry Nelson ('88, '89, '92, '96), Connersville's Randy Nichols (amatuer, '05), and Columbia City Professional Bill Schumaker ('00, '03).
Morris Park has been the host site to various Indiana Section Championships over the years including the 1998 Indiana State Amateur Championship, and a 2007 Indiana Club Tournament Series Event.
